The Western Arizona humane society veterinary clinic serves as a teaching location for veterinary students pursuing a degree in doctorate of veterinary medicine and veterinary technician students. Our veterinarians thoroughly enjoy teaching the next generation and welcome all students! Our externships consist of HANDS-ON experience with shelter medicine, general practice and surgical experience. For veterinary students, we offer two- or four-week rotations consisting of multiple surgeries and medical case experience. Our vet tech externs work closely with our skilled vet techs to learn hands on experience with blood draws, IV catheter placement, preparing microscopic slides, proper sanitation protocols for disease control, anesthesia, surgical prep and much more!
