Dr. Amanda Gordon

Dr. Amanda Gordon decided she was going to become a veterinarian when she was 4 years old. She was raised in Hesperia, CA, where she worked as a veterinary technician in a shelter medicine setting prior to attending college. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. Following her undergraduate studies, she attended veterinary school at the University of California, Davis, and graduated with honors in 2019. When she isn’t working, she spends her time with her two young boys and her parents fishing, hiking, camping and enjoying all the beauty Arizona has to offer.

Katie Dougherty, Practice Manager/Lead Vet Tech

Hi! I’m Katie, the Practice Manager at the Western Arizona Humane Society. I’ve spent the last five years working as a veterinary technician, and I truly love what I do. Caring for animals has always been a huge part of my life. I’m currently enrolled with Penn Foster, working toward becoming a Certified Veterinary Technician here soon. At home, I’ve got a full house with three dogs, two cats, and two sulcata tortoises—so it’s safe to say animals are my whole world! I’m passionate about creating a positive, supportive environment and making sure every animal gets the love and care they deserve.

Cassidy, Customer Service Representative

Hi, my name is Cassidy. I graduated high school in 2025 and soon after began working on the veterinary side at the Western Arizona Humane Society, where I’ve been since October 2025. Every day, I have the privilege of caring for animals in need—helping them heal, stay healthy, and get ready for their forever homes. Working hands-on with animals has always been my passion, and I love being part of a team dedicated to their well-being. Whether I’m assisting with medical treatments or simply offering comfort to a nervous pet, I feel grateful to make a positive difference in their lives—and they never fail to brighten my days!
